To poirée-ville, member of ANTHROPOLOGY OF HABITAT AND ARCHITECTURE (AHA)
this is a letter I sent to Manalee Nanavati, who wants to study Anthropology of Habitat and Architecture. Since it contains informations on some fieldwork in India I send it to all my friends of this "Anthropology of Habitat and Architecture" (AHA) Website. Please have a look at her new AHA website and at the photographs of fibrous signs and symbols made by architectural students of CEPT University* at Achmedabad, India. * Center for Environmental Planning and Technology University
I have another website which was the first one with the title "IMPLOSION". The title page shows many graphic informations on the field (however the much too abstract title "Implosion" was a mistake!). But, in its "RESEARCH SERIES ONLINE" it contains many papers with various topics. The English is my translation, therefore not perfect. I will look for someone who corrects the english for publication. Some of these papers also got deformed because of changes in the representation of non-English umlaut-letters like ä, ü, ö, in German or ç é, à, è, ô etc in French. To get to this website google 'negenter' and click 'IMPLOSION' or 'http://home.worldcom.ch/negenter/'. If you want, I can send you a CD of this first website. I also will put some papers into the AHA website.
So far the beginning. Maybe I have to add that India is a very important world region for this type of studies into the "Anthropology of Habitat and Architecture" because rural villages in India have preserved quite a lot of ritual traditions containing fibroconstructive signs and symbols in their centres. I add some photographs of rural cult festivals we have documented while travelling in traditional regions of India some years ago.
